88 cents for 18 is crazy cheap. They're 2 something a dozen in the grocery stores here. There's an "organic" farm just down the road that's getting fifty cents an egg for free range.

Only thing my grandmother would eat was brown eggs when I was a kid, and I still like them better

Damn...50 cent an egg means $6 a doz...crazy!! I've always been suspect of the 'organic' claimed eggs myself. Just exactly what does the 'organic' claim really mean? I bet it's nothing shy of a full-blown scam...cha-ching, cha-ching as the cash register rolls.

Organic around here means no pesticides or fertilizer of any kind, among other things. Only thing they can use is manure or some type of compost etc. Lobster bodies are popular fertilizer, you wanna smell that on a 90 degree day. The farms are actually inspected and registered.

I'm pretty cynical about the whole thing same as you are. I think a lot of it is a *B-S.... cash grab

I agree. I eat eggs all the time...even by myself I'll fry, over easy, scramble, or omelette 6-8 eggs at the time. Two or three eggs don't cut it, just pisses me off. I'll take'em just as cheap as I can get 'em.
