I've had a couple new ngk's that were duds. I still use NGK as they're the most locally available plugs that aren't champion, and are usually fine.

Have had several champion failures, including one where the insulator broke loose from the plug body.

IME, the best plugs are ND. They are a bit more expensive, and less available. Ordering them in bulk helps.

It's just greed. I'm pretty sure they know how to make spark plugs in Germany. Just make more profit in China. HATE China anything, god help us if we have to fight a war with their junk....

If were lucky there using there own junk too.

I bought a pair of Bosch plugs one time that had the faintest spark you ever saw. Both of them were exactly the same. So weak the saw wouldn't even run. I'm very very thankful I don't have the experience others have with damage occurring.

On another note..I was surprised to find out a shop a few blocks away from me stocks plugs as hot as NGK BPMR2A.

I'd like a non Chinese made plug that's a replacement for a Bosch USR 7 AC. The last one of these I got was made in China but I don't know about a direct replacement. I always had good luck with NGK plugs.

Bosch plugs make the dyno electronics go wonky
The one in question probably wasn't a resistor type plug. I doubt brand would matter. The resistor is supposed to help with interference with electronics, or so I've heard

Probably what it was. My 55, and Bill's 394 wouldn't read. Then we switched plugs and they were fine. I just remember they were Bosch.

Back in the day, you'd get interference on your car radio with standard plugs. The resistor helped with that. Whether that was it's intention or not, I have no idea

In the case of your 55, it could have been the resistor plug. But the 394 probably needed a coil lol. Stupid things. I just leave mine running now til I'm done using it or only shut it off if it's gonna sit for an hour to cool off before I need it.

Helped a friend rebuild the top end of his ford once. Got it all done, fired it up and it ran like garbage. Started doubting ourselves for a minute. Then we swapped out the bosch plugs that had been put in it and it ran perfect.

I also used to use nothing but bosch cordless tools. First set I ever had were bosch 24V and bad to the bone. So I outfitted my entire work arsenal with bosch tools. What a mistake that was. After that first set, it all went downhill. So much headache after so much money spent. triggers, switches, batteries, the list goes on. Needless to say my relationship with bosch ended years ago.

Outboard boat motors are what made me switch. I do not fully understand why But nothing seems to start a cold boat motor better /faster than the ngk. That is also the only place I had my one failure with a newish plug.
I'm talking four strokes included

My older saws came with Bosch plugs that were from Germany. Never had any problems with those. They were all my dealer stocked.
I can't speak for Bosch plugs today. But I did buy a box of NGK plugs from the HLS Christmas sale. [emoji106]

I always ran NGK in all my sleds, bikes and even vehicles.
Never had an issue with them.

Been buying multiple's of NGK's on Ebay for a while. Sometimes 10 packs, and sometimes 20 packs with free shipping.
Turns out I can get them for half the price of the NAPA store up the road. Works for me!
