Looking to upgrade the head gear from the Stihl helmet to something that doesn't "squeeze" my head. ( No jokes please! ) Thinking a chin strap is a clue to a better option.

Also should carry "pad" for the saw blade, and a belt mounted way to carry a small axe for a wedge driver.

possible small bar oil & fuel and.

Want to upgrade my "packing in" to work apparel.

If there is a sponsor here selling that type of thing....all ears

Army Navy store. [emoji106]

Helmet with chin strap. Check.

Padded suspenders with web belt to hang stuff from. Check.

Ruck sack to contain fuel, oil, spare chain, tools and three days of Charley Rats. Check.

Sorry, too hard to resist.

Pfanner protos is the market leader by leaps and bounds. Best protection and ergonomics, as well as being more comfortable. Also happens to have the best chin strap fastening mechanism ;)

Kask and Petzl make great helmets, but you’ll never want to wear one again after trying a Protos.

Those helmets get crazy good reviews!

I was so excited the day I got it to actually have a helmet that didn't drive me nuts I almost laid in bed with it.

The strap takes some getting used to. But it's the perfect helmet.

Cool...I figured all black if I had to bet on it after seeing the color selections. I had never even heard the name until you mentioned it, so I looked 'em up. Just crazy how many five outta five star reviews they get, regardless of where you read the reviews at.

You could get 6 decent hookers for the price of a protos...but...it's worth it if you work with a chainsaw.

Yes the protos is good but I just can’t pay that kind of dosh, I got the Petzel and it’s a winner. over those other ground helmets that need to be tightened so they don’t fall off

Cheaper must be Jersey New hookers dollars 50.
A good hooker or very good hooker was 75-100 in AC during late eighties. You must have different rates in Steeltown or maybe a different marketable commodity?... meh.
May your wallet get well soon ;)

Hope you understood all that :p

You guys saying you can afford a $200 helmet setup (including ear protection and a shield/screen), but can’t afford a $300 helmet are looking at all wrong. They last a long time if you don’t have any incidents, and if you do, wouldn’t it be nice to have some side impact protection in addition to top o the dome coverage? Only the protos has that.

If you climb or work in brush, the no-snag earmuff design is worth its weight in gold in terms of the frustration and repetitive neck strain it saves you.

Buy once, cry once - you only get to die once.

I’m partial to the tactical green, but the high viz green and the red/yellow stand out the most when working with others.

I almost bought green but it wasn't in stock a few months back.
