Gonna through one more in the mix as my local shop has these on sale with rails and a red dot.
Winchester Wildcat $299
Has a 10 round clip. Supposedly the Ruger 10/22 25 round clips interchange but I've read about issues with that combo. Sorry for all the questions guys.
BTW just realized this gun is made in Istanbul. That may be a deal killer for me.

I don't think the Wildcat is a good value. Foreign made, uses alot of plastic where others use metal, and costs the same as a 10/22. Also, the stock has some funky dimensions that don't fit me well at all.

Here's what the Rossi version looks likeView attachment 321648
It was 116.00
I might get one this week.

I got one in green and it seems to shoot as well as any other low-mid priced .22 autoloader. Uses the well proven Marlin bolt design and has a one piece housing for the trigger mechanism and magwell. I put the Tech Sights aperture sight set for the Mossberg 702 on mine and it works great. Another plus, the cheapo Pro Mag mags work perfectly.

They’re decent red dots. I’ve got one on a gun I don’t use a ton. I did have issues with a few vortex optics but their warranty always takes care of it quickly! Any reason you’re going with that combo? Just curious, I like a 3-9 on my 10/22 for my uses.

Side note, if you go with something other than a 10/22 you’re nuts. Good bargain and if there is absolutely anything on it you don’t like, you can just swap it out!

…now if ol’ Remington Nylon 66’s we’re still around, I might hafta re-think my 10/22 suggestion. The 66’s were damn good 22’s back in the 70’s.

I did find a NOS Marlin 60 in the box for $275 but it was gone the next day.
So yes, I did find a 10/22 Deluxe, semi heavy barrel varmint special. That gun should hold it's value and accessories galore.
@Dolkitafreak , Most of my shooting is up in trees under 50yds. I just figured the 4x would get me aimed quickly in a short field of view and still give me a red dot option up to 100 yds. They do make it in a 6x too for a little more but this is what he has in stock. What do you think? Is the 3-9x scope also a red dot combo??

I have two model 60s, both older and one in stellar condition. Second one I saw all rusted in a closet at my folks neighbors house 8ish years ago,
Me “That a marlin mod 60?”
Him “yep, you want it?”
Me “ yes please!”
Come to find out his plinker was a mint 1940s winchester pump 22 and one of the funnest 22lr I’ve had the pleasure to shoot.

GunBroker @USMC615 Jason, They gotz a bunch of the Remy's 66Nylon. So it does have a nylon stock? Hence the name. That gun has a 30 yr. production run. Interesting, even have a black and chrome one on that site for $1600. I'm sure you gotz room in the safe//safes!!

Red dot would probably be a better option for that stuff, my 3-9 doesn’t have a lit reticle but some do.

My Winchester 77 tube and Savage 93 have served me well. Both are accurate.

I have a 4x only scope on my Marlin 60. Plenty enough zoom to quickly get on target. A 40 or 44mm wide lens will also help you get on target easily.

If you go scope get one calibrated for .22lr
If you go red dot the sig Romeo 5
Is less than a hundred
Has a shake awake feature
I immediately bought a second one after trying one
Very easy to make hits to 100 yards.

Those dots are killer, the shake awake is the best feature to have on one!

The CZ 457 is an excellent rifle. I love mine. The adjustable trigger is a plus.
I also have a full stock 77-22 in .22 mag. After replacing the trigger, it's a good shooting gun. Ruger factory triggers leave a lot to be desired.
Appreciate the info.
Couldn't find any CZ 457's in-stock...although I didn't pull out my ferret powers just yet! lol
I did spot this in a .22 WMR::)
