I valued @amberg's advice in the past. Unfortunately with his recent passing that ain't gonna happen.
So just looking for a troublefree plinker with a large capacity. Been looking at the four Mossberg models and also like the 10/22Ruger. Yinz guys have any input? Can you mount most laser sights on a piccney rail?? Pic's or vid's always welcome. Post em up. A good YouTube review link side by side comparison would also work. Thx. guys, timg

I like the Mossberg plinkster
It's been very accurate for a budget .22
Rossi offer's it in a different stock.
I bought a 10.00 rail to mount standard

The Rossi was 109.00 the last I checked
10/22 200.00+
Good guns and sky's the limit on accessories for Ruger's

Any differences between the 702 and 802 Plinkster Dave?

Here's my plinker.
Ruger 10/22 that came to me as a beat up synthetic stocked standard model.
I kept the receiver and replaced everything else.
Ruger sporter stock, Shilen barrel, BX-1 trigger, picatinny rail, custom bolt and Leupold rimfire scope.
It's a good shooter and looks pretty decent.
It's hard to beat a 10/22 for versatility.

The first gun I ever bought was my Marlin 60. Has had thousands of rounds through it. Still drives tacks at 25 yards. Love that gun.

It's the blue laminated stock.

Took the family to an Appleseed shoot years ago, needed a couple more .22 rifles. Local place had marlin 795's for $99 after rebate, so I bought 2. Once cleaned, both have been accurate and flawless. With ammo it likes, makes dime size 10 shot groups at 25 yds, if I do my part. I have not found bigger than 10 round mags, but the mags are cheap enough to buy a few for each rifle.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Just buy one of everything.
My most accurate .22 is a cz 452 bolt action
They were a whopping 264.00 10 years ago.
I've had 2 of the 77/22 Ruger bolt actions
Good rifles
And 6 or 7 10/22s I'm just too tall I guess to find them comfortable
But everyone makes stocks now.
Of course the Mossberg/Rossi's are copies of the Marlin 60 another great choice.
I'm interested in czs new semi auto
.22 I just haven't seen one yet
Tell us what you end up with.

Any experience or feedback here on a nice .22 Mag Rifle you could recommend?

Walmart had the Mossberg I bought
On clearance for 50.00
I wish I'd have bought several
Doesn't have the Marlin micro groove
Of course
But very good accuracy.

I will Dave. Been looking for an early Marlin 60 like @full chizel . As it has a little longer barrel and extra magazine capacity. But with pricing headed into collector status that older model is out of reach. Do like @Steve SS/Blue laminated stock model too. I know you are into those guns made in Turkey. Yes that's why I started this thread to narrow the choices. Got to give it some more review time for sure. Thanks for all the input so far guys

The CZ 457 is an excellent rifle. I love mine. The adjustable trigger is a plus.
I also have a full stock 77-22 in .22 mag. After replacing the trigger, it's a good shooting gun. Ruger factory triggers leave a lot to be desired.
