Bends in bars

The end vise on my workbench has straightened lots of bars with this configuration:
View attachment 272606I sometimes just leave it in there overnight. It works for single bends, but not for S-shaped, kinked double bends like Old Guy shows above.

Perhaps. I must admit that I have used it for bars as long as 36" and as short as 18". The typical short top-handle bars can normally be straightened rather rapidly using the vise with the bar cantilevered out and a few pushes or pulls. I check the straightness using a table saw fence. That also allows checking for equal rail height.
