My deuce came from the factory with a 3.5" straight pipe (unmuffled). Sometimes I run a muffler (around my 'hood), mostly I run a 5" stack I made...

...even people who aren't motorheads know something is up with the 6100 when I start it. I like that saw. - but I wouldn't be running it on a residential job.

I don't care how loud a firewood saw is, those battery top handles are getting more and more popular with guys I know in the business.

I was beat after only about an hour of working, had cold sweats, and felt like crap while doing this. Turns out I tested positive for covid this morning. So far it’s kinda like having the flu. Thankfully dad was nowhere around.
If you had a bigger bar, the Covid would not have gotten to you!
Get well!

Is this the 6100 that you won in a raffle?

You don't go home any sooner in the residential tree business because you have a ported saw.
It depends on if you're the type with log handling equipment, or the type who would normally spend 2-3hrs cutting firewood to load it all by hand.

This too, people that get woken up at 7:30 aren't exactly impressed with ported saws.
Can you make a silencer for ported saws on that big fancy mill you have ?
I've often wanted to experiment with quietly adding power if at all possible. Port shapes, exhaust height, and muffler design could go a long way towards keeping a ported saw quiet without sacrificing too much power.

We have machines to make it go fast. A chainsaw that cuts 20-30% faster makes no difference time wise in the length of the job.

Ported saws are safer at times ..I know that sounds weird...but being able to get through a cut quicker in certain scenarios is nice.

Yes, for @Adirondackstihl - how you doin' buddy?

That was a trip. I didn't even realize it was a raffle and someone called me in the middle of a work meeting yelling at me to get on here and pick my prize, haha.

I had thought about letting it go once I got my 2159 fixed/ported, too nice for the likes of me, but after getting it tuned and putting it to work, it's a bad mamma jamma. I still need to run them back to back, but it almost feels like my 70cc. Gonna try a 24" on it.

It's a little heavy, but the easy start and power are real nice. Don't care for the limited coil but it forced me to learn to tune in wood.

Hanging in there. Trying to get everything done and have fun before Hell season comes back.

I’m gonna have to come out again....bring a saw this time.
