I've got a "Color Tune" spark plug somewhere that has a clear insulator and you could see the color of the burn while motor is running. It was made in England.

I have one of those too. Bought it back in the late 80's. Always kind of scared me looking down into it. All I could think is, this thing is going to blow apart and take out my eye.
