Atlas 1060 drill press

Hey guys. I got a atlas drill press awhile back and need to find a new pulley for the drill press head. Original is disintegrating. Looks to be pot metal. Motor pulley is fine. It seems to be solid aluminum.
I've looked for a replacement with no luck. Maybe I haven't looked in the right places. It's a 4 step pulley, 15/16 bore, top pulley is a little over an inch. Bottom pulley is about 4 inches. Any ideas?

Flea bay has a bunch of them,die cast .About 35-30 bucks .The largest bore I saw was 3/4" but most likely it could be bored to 15/16" and a keyway broached .

Now here's a trick .You can take an old tap,grind the teeth off and make a broach .You just nibble away at it taking small bites with the hand feed of a large drill pres ,milling machine etc .until you get it close then finish it with a file .I've done several this way including steel pulleys .---junk yard dawg 101 ---

That's a great tip, thanks. I may have found a pulley with a 1" bore. What are the thoughts of using it and just letting the set screw make up the difference ? I guess it may be possible to make a thin shim to sleeve the bore if needed.

It doesn't have a key way? Odd

The 1" bore pulley has a 1/4" keyway and 1 set screw. My thought was to use the key and tighten the setscrew further to make up the difference between the 1" bore on the pulley and the 15/16" shaft.

It may have a wobble unles you could shim it not sure wow bad the wobble might be

get some .o31"(1/32) shim stock, wrap it around the shaft, now yer at 1 inch...

I would think shimming it will work. I'm going to send a message to the seller. It seems they have thousands of pulleys. Maybe they have a 15/16 they don't have listed.

Browning probably makes exactly what you need . A cast iron Browning pulley would probably last a life time but it would cost more than the drill press is worth .
