I hope you heal fast Dave.
It's time for you to use protection cloths when you work in forrest and make it to be a rule.

Once you get bite you'll buy a pair

Once I was bite three years back I went out and bought a pair

I think it hurt worst when then cleaned it out in the ER than when I cut myself

And I still wear the pant's I had on that day; for a little reminder of that day

View attachment 17741 View attachment 17742 I usually wear chaps when saw wood but today i was just clearing out undergrowth on a old loggin road behind my house. Figured would be simple enough to just get it done and move on to somthing else. Got in a hurry and paid the small price for it. Wasnt that bad a cut and thank The Lord it wasn't any worse. Finished clearing the trail and got my brother to come by to stitch it up if possible. After he got digging around in it we started pulling trash and pieces of blue jean material out. I guess i will be visiting the medical center today to make sure it's cleaned out good and def will not leave my chaps behind again. Oh and btw, i still love my 262.
Looks like it got you when you lowered it and you were tired. Nail you in the left keg just above the knee? I cant tell you how many times I cut my pants there but no skin.

Ya know how they say alot more people get into car wrecks close to home?? Well, I'd be curious as to how many folks get a chainsaw wound when doing a "quick" or "simple" little short job where they don't use their PPE when normally they would?? It's the little quick BS jobs that we sometimes lose the required focus to run a saw on... Even cutting cookies for those vids we all like to post up and watch. To be completely honest, I am not 100% consistent in using my PPE either, and I know I need to be.

Glad you didn't fare worse, but man that still looks painful as all hell! Listen to the doc too, your biggest concern now is going to be fending off infection. Having blue jean material and God knows what else deposited into your flesh by the saw can cause a nasty infection. Don't take any shortcuts on his instructions for the proper care of your healing wound!

Thanks for taking the time and going out on a limb to post about your incident... It may save a life one day!
