Ariens EZR 1648 PTO belt

I am working on an Ariens EZR 1648 model number 915002, serial 000948, owner said the pto belt keeps coming off, the belt is missing, so I looked up the new belt 07212300 Stens says it is 1/2 X 52, but when I put it on there is way to much slop, does anyone have any experience with this machine..

I ended up putting a 1/2 inch by 50 on it, and seems to be just perfect

Glad you may have solved the issue! I've had a few mowers come around the shop I work at where I have to put a shorter belt on. Just seemed the one called for was to dang long. lol

Thank you, now I am working on a Weedeater rider, replacing the drive disc, that is a little more work than what I planned on doing. but I have it all tore apart now, to late to say no.. hope you are all having a super weekend.
