Hello, I'm looking to see if someone has made a 18-20" 3/8 .063 bar for pm700. I'm wanting to swap to the bar so I can use the same roll of chain.

Find a D025 in the length you want and get an adapter the open up the adjuster hole or if you can flip the adjuster pin. This is what I did on my 800.

I've heard of people modifying husky bars to fit but I dont know any of the details. Maybe someone will share. Welcome to the site.

So, your saying my ES mounts in 3003 will run with the adjuster flipped on my Mac SP70 and an adapter or stud sleeves? It came with a 3/8 20" OE Mac bar.

I have Makita and Husky mounts in OE, Oregon and Total. The tails look a lot different from D025. The slot is also longer but ten mill a close match but sloppy. The Sugi dual tail mount in twelve mill looks much closer in height and oil hole location for all the mounts including Mac. The Sugi and Total Husky bars have slotted oil feeds. Oregon and old Stihl don't. New ES is slotted oil feed but too small and needs opening up for volume. HO 1128 and 1122 Stihl pumps become restricted by the narrow slotted new style feed hole.

Hope that helps.

Thats what I did on my 800.
Of course the bar I used was already modified to fit a D009 with an adapter.

I can't rattle off bar codes like some but will say some Husky mounts will work on 10 series McCullochs . Likewise some 10 series bars will work on Huskies .I've got around 40 bars hanging on nails that aren't on saws .I just mix and match until I find one that fits should the occasion arise .Besides that just nearly any bar mount can be modified providing it's got a wide enough heel. Stihl mounts IMO are the easiest because they are plentiful ,all it takes is spacers in the slot .Maybe slotted oil hole but sometimes not even that .

I have not seen adapters exactly like that but Baileys had some to adapt Stihl bars to to other saws .I doubt they had any for 10 series Macs but spacer washers would do the same .I have Stihl bars adapted to large mount Mac and Homelites .Mac 10 series I have plenty already up to 32" which are seldom used .Husqvarna of which I only own two,a 281 and a 2100 I have enough of them .Fact more bars than I have that brand of saws .

One day I'll add the Mac bar to my tail pics all lined up. That was a good pic Wayne. My Sugi 20" 3003 mount has the oil holes drilled clear through on both sides. You can see the oil hole to fit up mounts for oil feed to Stihl bars. So easy.

I don't know of any shorter bars offered in .063 gauge made to fit 10 Series saws, I do have a few 16 and 18" hardnose bars that fit the large frame saws that can be made to work on the 10 Series saw with an "S" type or spring style adapters.

Large Husky mount D009 is easy to adapt and works well. Oil though the adjuster holes by filing the adjuster holes up into the bar groove. I filed the holes up until I had about 1/8" inch open to the bar slot.
I also filed them down a bit so the tension adjuster fits in there a little easier

I use the spring spacers that Mark showed. Just a normal hardware store 3/8" OD extension spring 5/16" ID. About 3 coils nipped off works. I widened the adjuster holes to match a D096 mount which will also work on your MAC but you don't need to widen them.

I also added some adjuster holes to the rear to fit my SP-80 and a Pioneer 3200.

Filing the adjuster holes up is about a 10 minute job.

Depending upon who made the D009 mount bar, you may have to open the bar stud slot a little. Some are tight and some are OK.

It oils a 24" bar just fine

The responses on this thread has been awesome. I'm waiting to get down to the last bit of chain I have for the pm700 before I buy a bar for it. I'm going to be very happy with another tsumura bar.
