You gave it away far too early.
The high gas tank and single screw cover mean 140 chassis. Kill switch location means 140/240/340, later saws have a slider switch under the choke.
That muffler I have only seen on a 240. Both the 340 and 140 are different.

I knew none of this info., only that it was a very popular saw in it's day.
The newer 235 & 240 are junk compared to this, I had one of each & gave them both away.

My chainsaw addiction includes trivia...
I have a 340SE and 444SE on the shelf complete and have pieces of a few more of these saws as well. Now that I have rounded out my 133's I may work on the 140's.

I was given a 235 once. I sent it on its way not much after I got it...

What’s the rest of the bar look like?
No other markings I remember, looks good, probably started life as a .050, could maybe run .063 by now.
I can look at it later today, I'll be busy this morning.

340 on the right, 444 on the left. Note the different kill switches, as well as the similar but not the same mufflers.
Both of those saws are awaiting a full tear down and cleaning, but both are runners.

The saw in this thread dates back to when there was little to no difference between consumer saws and pro saws, if I'm not mistaken. When I was a kid at least, there were only a few really cheap box store grade saws. Everything else was prosumer or proline quality. Rather strange to think that Poulan and Homie were once fierce competitors to Stihl and Husky.

When I think back, I think the Remington Mighy Mite 2.3 plastic fantastic was one of the very first consumer saws (read: junk). Dad had one in the late 70s and it was well and truly hated in short order.
