Stihl 462 starting cover shroud

Was looking at my saw and under the starting cover it looks like there is a plastic shroud in the pull cord housing. Anybody know what it's for? Looks like it's designed to be take off easily.

If you are referring to the translucent piece of plastic, then it is generally used to help funnel air into the fly wheel. Easy to remove for cleaning.
