It's an 85', 350 auto, not a show truck but it holds its own around here in the rust belt.

288 question; Why did my tach go crazy when I tried to read the rpm before I tore the saw down? Is it because the 2 coil set up screws with the ignition signal?

I have heard you can't use a tack on these saws but I think my tiny teach worked on my 181 but that had been a long time ago and my memory just works part time lol

My 930 has exact same ignition setup as 288 in it and my tach works, what kind of tach do u have ?

I'd like to see one installed. I have an idea in my head but I'm not sure if it's correct.

I don't have a saw to mount it on but I will post pics when I finish it . My stock for a mandrel was too long so I got to messing around with it I was going to have to cut it anyway I will get it finished up soon.
