View attachment 146686 I think this saw kills more trees, then Most of us guys will do. And it doesn‘t even have an airfilter.
What do you say now?

Its not a secret that the less solids a saw eats the better. Thats an old picture. My guess is that saw is long dead.

If that is an 044/440, it could use the rubber seal gasket. Might solve the issue of passing fines.

440 This one didnt come with one and was bought new.

Look at the base I had wanted to do that for him. Then look at the base of the 440 that comes with seal.

Not all 440s accept the rubber filter base gasket?

Here's a "non running" ms461 I got for cheap about a year or so ago. Guy says "well it'll start then die, not sure what's wrong with it. Got it home tossed a new filter on and fresh mix and it ran like a top. Piston looked perfect and compression was great.

It certainly let some fines through but this saw was obviously neglected not to mention that it took a good hit and deformed the filter pretty good.

My mesh filters on my jonnys let a small and i mean tiny amoubt of fines through. When i say tiny i mean after cutting tank after tank atleast 15 or more i get a trace of fines in the elbow if i done grease the mating surfaces.
