All kidding aside, some of you guys seem like your browser/device is infected.

Gets back to the nothing is free issue.
I highly recommenced reading the fine print in that little box, before clicking on install. They usually make it small so that most people wont read it, for a reason.
"Browser bar" or "Browser Helper" are generally a couple of nasty things to avoid.

And anything that won't show the rules (read me file) until -after- the install? That should always be an absolute NO.

Just a little search about phones and problems adverts.

This started at the same time for a bunch of us and other forums with adds haven't changed for me.

I’m on about a dozen forums. This is the only one where the adds are out of control.

What are Ads?

I haven't seen any in yrs here but that may be because I run an Ad blocker along with a script blocker. i only allows the necessary scripts needed to get a site to work. The only ad script that sneak in at times and that one gets caught by the anti-spyware software that I run every few days since it is the free version.

Now of course I don't one of those smartphone just a desktop computer.

The issue is Google is getting stinky rich selling ads, while sites like this that are used as screen area get dimes & nickels.

It is not having some ads that is the problem but sites that 100+ Ads that my Adblocker stops if it wasn't for NoScript blocking the script that deliver them. That site is basically useless if it weren't for these two apps.

As for the Maple Syrup it demands if US or Canadian. Those darn tariffs. I was looking at some fuses at Mouser this morning and system warned mt about a 45% tariff was be added to the bill. Ouch.

Well, there's no sugar maple trees in Florida...

There are no banana plants in Croatia either, yet the supermarkets are full with bananas that are cheaper than apples.
Croatia has oodles of apple trees, I alone must have a couple dozen - most apples are just rotting on the ground.
