I downloaded an adblocker app.
Or you can also pay a small gold member fee and get rid of them. It costs money to run the forum and that’s their way of raising funds

No, this is a problem. The new adds are full screen video ads with no option to close them. They obscure the whole screen and make the site unusable. This may be a phone specific issue, but it’s still a big problem. Membership might get rid of them, but that makes the site member-only. Member only eventually means death because there is no way to attract new members.

Yes^ agreed ketchup. I’m probably out of here if it can’t be better than this. It’s broken. I had to refresh and back out of this screen three times to read what was posted. This site didn’t used to behave anything like this but if more members end up leaving it’s not gonna be worth a membership to anyone. I only browse on my phone.

It is 11:40 PM, I am sitting in my 20 year old worn out recliner, watching Fox News, broadcast to my old TV from a old school rooftop antennae for free, while browsing OPE on my $16 phone and I do not see a single damn add

My favorite site F-up is when they drop the grayed out overlay that blocks the screen. As soon as you land on the site and they want yo to answer a survey about how nice their site is.
Well you just threw a ham-handed script on me and so I haven't been able to look at anything else on your site due to it.
If there's another place to look, I leave and try to never come back.
IF there's something that I think I need to get to, I'll hit the element blocker and click it gone.
I miss the days when all you needed to do about the damned overlays was to hashtag the word "overlay" into the filter list and that would fix many other sites also.
Then there's that Something makes us think that you might be a robot bulchit, from Cloudflare.
The real kicker is when it says I'm typing and clicking to fast to be human. ????

Yes these adds are very annoying. I discovered that if l turn my phone sideways
They go away. The adds are so annoying if I had to deal with them all the time I will just go away like a lot of members have lately. I like it here but my saw interest is waning and without convenient access it’s not worth it.
I enjoy the social connection but not the adds. Yes I could pay but it’s like everywhere you want somebody wants you to pay for what was free.

Google does it automatically so I don't know where you are seeing it. Can dyou provide a screenshot?

Nobody showed anything specific, and Google places ads where they want on auto pilot. I've just now turned off auto ads everywhere, as far as I can tell, except gutters, ends of paragraphs, and banners. Hope that helps. CLICK on 'em ffs, we need to fund this thang. LOL

I am normally on my laptop and never took pics of the screen but just so happed I was answering your response on my phone and as I was typing this ad covered the page up so I got my wife's phone to take this! @exCanuck
