34 years ago (ha that's a while ago) I bought a reed cage kit from Russell Karting out of Kansas City. It was for converting a Yamaha 100cc piston port kart engine over to reeds.
I was going to adapt it to my Stihl 090 as the bolt pattern was very close to the 090's intake studs. I also would have had to cut 2 oval boost ports in the intake skirt of the 090's piston.
Project sat on the shelf as I then decided to build a Yamaha YZ bike saw.

The reed manifold kit is laying somewhere in my boxes of junk.
I'll take another look tomorrow.

Found it.

Never used...only 34 years old :D
Branded G.E.M. Will accept a 34mm carb.

Hello Willard, this sounds very nice. Very appreciate it if you could let us know and see how you cut the new ports on to the piston.
I got a Honda cage last month for my project, will post some pic soon, thanks.

Chy, sorry for the wait.
This article got me inspired in the spring of 1982. Jonsereds 111 hot saw project.

I dug out my spare YZ125 bike saw cylinder and reed cage.
Comparing it to the reed cage conversion kit for the 100cc Yamaha kart engine.
Last 2 pics is a really good plastic cleaner with carnuba wax for cleaning saws.

I am trying another boost system for McCulloch 795 with a set of Honda reed cage and a pair of carbs. What I mean is to introduce the positive air pressure given by the flywheel fan into the boost port through this carb.

I will be glad if any guy has informative tips and appreciate it if he could share them, thanks.

This intake housing comes to the upper top of the motor where the blue arrow shows the flow of gas through another smaller carb.

The smaller carb in the pic below was originally installed on this 795, the same one on Super 797, but she was not budged as Super 795 though.

A nice video is posted from the Chainsawguy on this series;
