for those wanting a tool to do everything, I have it. i'm working on the prototypes now. it is a blend of my ideas and Walts. it will do everything from husky 346xp to 394/5 to 660 to 360 to 576 ...etc. patience gents. I know Walt can probably work up some tools for ya and obviously has started a thread on that. I will have an offering as well asap. It will depend on what style you prefer.

@Tor R has a great list of thread sizes (husky) in another thread, and that really helps figure out what goes with what. the stihl thread sizes... some are the same, some different.

I'd like to order one, what's your PayPal and how soon can you ship it?

I have it prototyped, the new aluminum sleeves are on their way and the threaded rods will be machined by a local shop. I don't have an eta... my biggest backup is waiting for the taps to tap each end ... left hand taps are a PITA to find. Hopefully i'll have it available in the next couple weeks sometime. I work this coming week, but am off the following. So all my energy will get spent to try to get these made. Gonna do an initial run of 20, so T1, you are first in line

I know stihl and husky have shop tools. Mine will be easier to use, safer, and more economical overall.

Just to plug Walt too, he has some original ideas as well and has a different approach. Hopefully we will present reasonable options to people who are looking to diy this stuff or buy it. But between the two of us, the husky tools are out lol

Oh, I misunderstood your post. You said you had it, I didn't realize you were still in the prototyping phase.

My prototype works....and you can see it on youtube. I'm just trying to get the pieces all done ....uh...nicer. it is a top priority to get rolling asap. Week after next I'll hopefully drop off the threaded rod at a shop and have it drilled and tapped. I'll machine 20 sleeves myself and once I have that. ...I'll ship out. I'll like to ship out complete sets....which is what I am working on ...7 pieces total...will cover all the popular saws. But eventually I'll also be able to make the set smaller and have specific adapters for specific saws. Sorry for the confusion.

They definitely look easier to use but how are they safer?

safer as in... #1 ...no heat... so there is no chance of burning yourself #2, safer on the bearings as in there is no lateral forces on the bearings, no hammer, no pressure on the outer race whilst pulling through inner race.

Okay when compared directly to the Husqvarna tool my tool and Walters tool both are one-handed Solutions as well as my tool not putting pressure on the outer race so therefore overall it is safer for the bearings I hope that is ineffective Explanation

I know yer late in the production phase ...but...

I THINK you can add some screw on threaded "tips" and use the new universal tool even more universaler as a seal removal tool. (yes I am very well aware that universaler is a word.)

Actually Matt both of our will. I could machine up bushings that your "tube" could push on. Mine can push inner race or case, just depends on what bushing or tube you use. With mine A bushing for the case or a tube to the inner race, doesn't matter as both work. Both tools are essentially "Jacks" that thread onto the crank ends. I've used mine for pulling bearings into and out of the cases because it has a lot of travel therefore can adapt. Think Matt could do the same, just depends on the bushing you use...Mine does have a lot of travel to work with and ALL I did was take advantage of that travel by using a bolt reaching through a bushing, the bearing, threading into the "jack" and pulling the bearing to the case to install or into a "cup" bushing when taking the bearings out.

With my goofy "Crank Jack" a guy with a lathe can accessorize the crap out of it by adding to the tubes and bushings for more than just a few saws...didn't want to post "phase 3,4 and 5" because I've already saturated the thing with videos. But phase 3 is "squeezing" bearings into cases....4 pulling bearings out into a cup bushing. Phase 5 is using it plus an accessory to do other things.. Think about that for a bit.... Doesn't matter if that jack pushes or pulls does it...and with the nut&washer it doesn't really matter what side of the accessory its on either.

Biggest issue with me and mine is time, not really expecting to have to build Hundreds, so I will have a couple of the handles, threaded rods in those four threads on hand as I do now and will make up the rest as there is interest....if there is a lot of interest....it will take time. Each one is an individual. Takes me a morning to build one from scratch & the handles are rugged but crude at best. But for coverage, mine with a M8x1mm and M10x1 is already done so ALL those flywheel sides are done. Have a couple of the threaded rods drilled and tapped for those sizes. And I have M12x1mm and M12x1.25mm reverse threaded ones already. SO with a tube or bushing....you can add up which models are handled.All the 365/372/385/390's and anything with the M8 flywheel nut.. Matt's has all those covered as well. Mine works on either 6202 or 6203, doesn't matter. The reason I showed bushings is the MS660's have the bearings and bushings installed as delivered. So do the Husqvarna replacement cases. So I use a "bushing" to pull the crank through the pre installed seals. Mine can use either a tube or a bushing, doesn't matter. I could turn bushings for Matts as well I suspect. So really he's got more options than he realizes. ( Farmer Jones.. )

But I really didn't want to talk about mine in this thread. I wanted to show how to get the "real McCoy's", the Husqvarna Shop tools. Really cool in their own right. What inspired me to build mine, those ones for the 372's with the "hex" on the end. But also the seal drivers. Really handy stuff.
