I don’t know what happened but they said corporate says they have to accept them within 30 days even if they are destroyed. Not in this neck of the woods. But, I suppose it could happen eventually. These shown here look like they have been run over by a truck.
They had a 450 for 25% off at another one that was a return. It wasn’t smashed but looked like it saw some stuff. They are usually out where they keep the stall mats and bigger equipmentI’ll have to ask my local TSC if they have any next time I’m there.
My friend works at lowes. He bought 2 Husqvarna saws (returns) for $20 each (about 2-3 weeks apart). He brought them to me to look at. Both were like brand new; one was on it's first tank is my guess. Guess what the problem was with both (not the same customer)? It looked like they did not tighten the chain as it loosened, and threw the chains; instead of grinding the burrs off of the drive links, they beat the chains back into the bar. The chain would not turn so they brought the saw back for refund. I deburred the chains, gassed them up, and they ran like champs. Piston and cylinder looked brand new, as did both saws. I cannot remember the exact models (435 and 450 maybe), but about $7-800 worth of saws for $40.Tsc is selling returned saws for 75% off…View attachment 444421View attachment 444422
Still not worth it. Buying new parts at retail you're going to be spending not much less than a new saw, maybe more for the one in the bottom picture.Tsc is selling returned saws for 75% off…View attachment 444421View attachment 444422
What does TSC do with them if nobody buys? Lowes tosses them in the trash; they eat the loss. They would have thrown these brand new saws away. Our TSC had some for sale the other day that were returns but one was straight gassed and the other had broken/pulled bar studs. I know the manager and let him know if he came across any in decent shape to let me know. We always have volunteers helping and it makes me cringe to see them jerk on a 261/362/400 when it gets hung. Cheap or older saws go to them, lol.
Excellent point!Still not worth it. Buying new parts at retail you're going to be spending not much less than a new saw, maybe more for the one in the bottom picture.
Nope. If you bought both you might have enough to make one but it’s $175 for a beat used saw that is worth maybe $125 used.Still not worth it. Buying new parts at retail you're going to be spending not much less than a new saw, maybe more for the one in the bottom picture.
