Has anyone ever converted their 661 m-tronic saw to a standard carb?

I think Tree Monkey and Redbull661 did one several years ago. Vid was on YouTube IIRC.

Thanks. I didn't think about looking on YouTube. I guess I was wondering if there was more to it other than new carb, coil, flywheel and some other pieces..

My 661 went from mtronic to carb. Not the cheapest to do if your going to buy all the OEM parts.

Are the cases the same? I thought I read somewhere someone had to remove material for the 661 coil? I can't remember where I read that. Maybe it was for a different saw.

I'm trying to locate a parts manual to compare.

For a full conversion You will want following Part #'s:
1144 400 1301 Ignition Module
1144 123 7500 Grommet
1144 440 3000 Wiring Harness
1144 182 1000 throttle Trigger
1144 185 1900 choke rod
1144 182 2100 Retainer
1144 442 1600 Contact spring
1144 182 0900 Switch shaft

There must be at least a dozen I helped converting from Mtron to standard carb.
Parts were always difficult to get, it can only be worse now.
The kit WAS 300-350$, most likely more expensive now.

Dan from Greece also enabled parts for the conversion.

Edit:
Parts list updated!
Going through a bunch of old PM's.

Nice, the largest my dealer has around here is the 462 or the 500I (when they get lucky and get one in).
500i in stock, on display - but expensive!

I think i posted pictures in the Stihl thread.

I didn't pay that much when I bought mine in April. I was a little lucky. My dealer ordered one for a guy in October 2021 and he gave up a week before it came in lol, so It took 6 months.

Everything OPE is more expensive in Croatia then anywhere else.
The 462 & 500i were a couple hundred $ cheaper in Greece than in Croatia.

VAT is 25%
