660 carbs

[I Know Something]

When you replace your carb on these Chinese toys. What carb do you replace it with? I'm not even sure what it comes with. Mine has no identifying markings. Also, beside flea bay. Where do you order them from? Is one preferred?

Educate me please.

You can buy different jets for the 69 and not all came with the .62
I bought a .74 to put in my 69

I was assuming something along the lines of venturi size. But, if it's just stock jet size.....ok. I'll take being wrong again.

I was reading around the intwebs last night. And it seems to be saying ms660 magnum was a .74 jet. Also for stihl to meet the ever reducing eps regs the jet size was reduced.

So it could be just down to when a carb was made for the 660 as to what jet it has , although the wj67 and 69 were /are smaller jets. you can see this in the carb section of the 660 ipl
But as deetsey says not all came the same.

There Also seemed to be slight differences in needles on some carbs. But I think this was the artic version and to do with fuel viscosity. I can’t be sure if the artic had or still has a .74 jet ?

And good old Brasil has the least epa regs so it came with the .74 jet and still does

So the next time I look at my 660's carb I must have a look at the jet.

I didn’t really care for the .74 jet in my ported 066. The tune seemed to move around more and wasn’t very far out on the screw, like 3/4 turn out.
I since put the Tilly carb on which has a .64 jet and I like that better.
The WJ69 with the .74 jet ended up on my 024 super and it’s much better on that saw.

I ordered one from my dealer and it is on backorder. The cost will be $2.65 he said . I went ahead and bought the.073 on e-bay.

That would be great. Threw my lack of experience my knowledge on the subject is leaving me with lots of questions. And Google searching really hasn't cleared up any yet.

I was wondering about that for my 660 with the big bore kit. Under high load, it seems to be lacking fuel. I'm still fiddling with it. Where I have it adjusted, it's burning clean and sounds happy as heck. I was wondering if a larger jet size would help. Dont know. Kind of thinking out loud atm.
