562 xp Operating temp

562 are a love hate relationship. 3/4 the year they run great (spring, fall and winter). Don’t bother running one in the summer when temps climb past 80 degrees. It’s the only saw that actually frustrated me so much I tossed the thing lol. I only run 572’s or other various saws that do better than a 562 in the heat. I needed something that starts, runs and pay the bills in hot weather. Husqvarna did huge strides with the new 550 and 572... I dunno why there slacking on re engineering the 562... one of there volume sellers.

Thanks for that. Would you say the 550 would suffice re: firewood for the year??. I also need it all year round to clear trees etc around the farm when needed. Biggest trees we have are 20-24" elm and maple

You can do a lot with a 50 cc and a 18” bar if your experienced with cutting. Once you start getting into 24” stuff or actually felling trees I like a 70cc though. I haven’t ran the new MK2 550, but apparently it has pretty much all the same updates as the 572 does. The 572 performs good in the heat for me, so I would expect the “little brother” to as well.

If you can swing the high price tag... the 462 is probably the ultimate firewood saw for your average firewood hack. It’s close in weight to a 562 and a touch lighter than the 572. The 572 has better torque and balance with longer bars logging. However for what your doing a 462 is pretty much ideal. It’s snappy and responsive with a 20 or 24” bar. I haven’t ran a 462 in the heat, but it did well in winter cutting for me for the two weeks I tested one. From reports from other guys using them I don’t hear about heat issues.

Meh. For 1300$ I’ll keep the 572. Just my friendly opinion lol. 500i is a cool saw though for sure.

Made a beam with the 562 this weekend, wasnt hot enough to be a problem but i just kept it idling the whole time. Someone mentioned thks can screw with the fuel curve if idled to long, but if you look at the autotune flow chart i attached this is not the case. Idling has its own mode and it does not affect the tune of WOT.

so if your having hot start problems just let it idle imo.
