So... When did they change?
Received a 2020/21 562xpg that was replaced under warranty. The saw had the drum and a few smalls robbed. No biggie. I did my thing and got it all back together, grabbing parts from my used box. All seemed fine. That was this past winter. Fast forward to now. Loaned the saw to a friend and he had a starting problem. Nimrod that put the airbox on had the choke in the wrong slot. Oops that was me, my bad... easy fix. I go to test cut the saw and it only oils intermittently....... Great. Tear into it because I need a saw and all my others are stored except a handy dandy craftsman and a 201. I pull the clutch off and the used drum has three prongs to drive the gear. The gear has a large spline...... Wasn't going to wait for a new drum and drive to come in. So I grab a 359 drum that has been on my bench for well um years. It's almost a dead nuts match. The clutch had a slight drag on the drum as the backspacing is slightly different. A reduced diameter washer, a quick start, piss rev with the brake on and we are back in biz. Full send.
Will find the proper parts at a later time. But why would they have to change something like that?
