FOUND IT 550XP Piston and Rings

Having a little trouble tracking down a good piston for my 550Xp project saw. My cylinder is good, so I just need the slug and stuff. HL Supply had an AM one on eBay, but canceled my order as it was out of stock.

Not opposed to a used one in good condition either.

Well, that's what I was hoping to do. I wanted to compare prices with my local dealer. These guys are usually outrageous for parts.

Just found one in the UK, but the eBay seller doesn't give the brand name or manufacturer. Kind of looks like a POS. I think I'd rather run a used OEM than a junk AM part.

Really? HL had an AM one for under $30 + shipping, but they are out of stock. The P&C kits I'm seeing on fleeBay are like $120 +. That's more than I gave for the saw.

I found a good used one and if the rings are shot, dandikrop over here on eBay has a Caber ring for it. I put an offer on it, so we'll see what happens.

I bought one from bob a few months ago and the complete top end kit was CHEAPER than the piston kit. Price was $110 i think?

Cool. I had started with HL, but they don't have the piston in stock. I found a used one in good condition and won it on fleeBay. I'll just plan on re-ringing it.

Often folks outside the U.S buy parts abroad due to the price difference. The OP being in Greece has one of the most favoured parts suppliers around for both price & QUALITY. Many in States & even myself in Aus use the guy known as 'The Greek' aka Dankidrop. He offers high quality parts that are on par or better than OEM. Caber rings Meteor pistons, Koyo bearings and much more. He's good and very legit. I see you know of him, you should check out his shop, I've been very happy with parts from him.

I order often from him. However, he was also zero balance on the piston and could not order one right away. He does have a Caber ring for it though. Ordering one today.
