The stock spike/dawg on the Husqvarna 545 550 saws are a joke. They're just too small to be of any value. While some may feel a 50cc class Saw doesn't need a spike, I wanted to keep the muffler from caving in and I like as much paint on the case as possible.
I used a stock, OEM spike off of a 562xp and just elongated the mounting holes. The mounting holes are larger than the screws so I just torqued them firmly for now. If I have a problem with them loosening due to the oversized hole I will weld them closed and drill the correct sized hole.

As you can see they are not huge, nor do they take up a large amount of bar space.
