Is it stolen? That saw is $1149.00 at my dealer.

A 462C was reported stolen by Farmer Steve on FHC and AS yesterday. Not saying it is the same saw but you never know. Farmer Steve has a record of the serial number. He had other saws stolen as well.

Both saws taken today,9/21/21.
261 serial # 520927282.
462 serial # 185458212.
This happened in South Central Pa.
Saws also have unique hidden markings that only I would know.

If the saw runs and isn't beat to living snot, I think $500 is a rockin good deal. so good it seems fishy.

I could quietly make a note of the serial# if I go take a look but I am about 5hr. or so north of the PA. line.

Mine had the stock dual dogs on it. I can't tell from the pic. it also does not have the original fuel cap attachment. It has an old style type like on a 044. Not sure my saw could have made it that far north but ya never know.

Seems to run very well. I dont have the adapter to fit the plug hole to test compression at the moment but my guess is it is near new condition.

Look from the bottom where the adjustment screw is for the oiler. You will see a pin that limits the adjustment. Use a punch and tap it in and you will gain travel on the screw.
