Guess that extra “inch” of bar means more to some guys than others.

I'm not sure if Dustin is worried about inches or the basic function of his chainsaw..but I do know that a retarded big set of dawgs help you..

1 - rip your saw out of it's powerband.
2 - lose bar real estate.
3 - scare your neighbors better if you live in mayberry.
4 - help you line up cuts if you cut big conifer trees in the pacific northwest.
5 - turn your clutch blue.
6 - protect the front of your saw from really thick bark trees.

I'm sure I forgot a few things.

I have a set of the 064 and the stock outter inbound, I will take pics when they come.in.so others can make their own decisions. Thanks to Ryan for the help.
Were those pet numbers you posted good? I need to change the dogs on mine as well. These new ones coming in saws are anemic as heck. I bent my inside one somehow.

I had a set off the R model 462 and the wouldn’t work with the small clutch cover that comes on the flush cut model 462.

The 064 dawgs need a smidge of a fit to work on the smaller clutch cover but they still line up properly but work fine on the west coast cover..dustin will figure it out.

I had to grind where the pointer is just a smidge to get the outer dog to fit in deep enough for the bolts to mount, I painted it, then added a Husqvarna chain catcher from a 572, it was even t27, probably dye it black to match later today. Thanks to Ryan again for his help. These stick out about 1/2" further then stock

No mods needed for the west coast cover...it's weird...

Glad you got em' dude.

I bought farmertec spikes on ebay (yes yes I know, shoot me) that were designated for the 461 and they fit the 462 fine with a bit of filing to the outer spike.

You filed them to bolt up or line up ?

The 046/460/461 have a different outer than the 440/064/660. I'm glad on the 462 they made the same as the 440/064/660 and it's variants so you have more options.

I can’t stand big dawgs on a little saw. I do happen to like what my dealer set me up with. I wanted an outer dawg, but didn’t want a 3/4 wrap.

There are many variations on the 462 it seems. The latest I worked on had the stock inner and a skeletonized stock outer which was odd, as the R model I had here had a solid outer.

I cut hardwoods, but not nearly as much as you fellows do. I can just say that the 661 spikes don’t feel ridiculous on a 462. I wouldn’t want them on an 026, that’s for sure.

To bolt up. *s-word never mind I just realized they were the 440/660 spikes. Had a look through my ebay purchase list and saw them.
Still had to file the outer one though.
