Videos of just after is a good consolation prizeWell I finally advanced the timing! I shot for .020 off the key, ended up probably .025. should have taken a before video but it sure seams to have more RPM in the cut and more torque!
I have ran both .325 nk and 3/8 l.p.. and both have their pukes but I keep going back to th LP.I have been running .325 chisel with a 16 inch bar. But just for fun I ordered a 3/8 LP bar, drum and some 63ps chain. I'm curious to see what all this 3/8 picco fuss is about!
The stihl full chiz low pro chain is some great stuff to work with I use it on my climbing saw and also the semi chiz.I have been running .325 chisel with a 16 inch bar. But just for fun I ordered a 3/8 LP bar, drum and some 63ps chain. I'm curious to see what all this 3/8 picco fuss is about!
What did the full 3/8 lp set up consist of ? Im trying things at the moment to .Well I got my lo pro set up from @fordf150 and I was happy with the results. New chisel .325 vs new 63 PS
63 PS was .23% faster in the cut.
I wish I could post a video but I don't have a YouTube account and probably won't

I was wondering about bar length/make...chain brand ..and if you changed over to a rim sprocket clutch drum that you could find a 3/8 lp sprocket to fit the chain. I have spur sprockets for lo pro and a rim sprocket drive for my 420 so was hoping to go down the rim rout .I had my saw set up for .325 so I needed a bar, chains and either a spur drum or a sprocket for 3/8 lp
Very helpful thanks...Iv been using a Oregon 14"in A041 mount and VXL chain as a trial but am looking into Sugihara pro lam supper light and maybe the Stihl chain. Its the rim V spur thing that is more of a issue so far.I got a 16 inch .050 56 drive link set up.
Jonsered bar from Nate not sure if it's the same as a Oregon pro light or not. I changed to a spur but I did fine a sprocket that was machined to fit small spline.
I'm using Stihl PS chain it's full chisel
Thanks Nate...thats backing up sorta where im at with this myself, I will stick with the spur rim for now .@Simondo
to my knowledge there are no commercially available 3/8lp rims for small spline. Mike machines out the stihl mini spline picco rims to fit small spline....spur drum is cheaper than the machined rim so thats the route we went on this one.
the jonsered bar is an oregon double guard 16" A041

Corey. In a vid on VXL v Stihl PS you had a ... lo pro stihl rim sprocket ... you were using . It seems to be the only Lp 3/8 rim out there and fits only stihl clutch drums from what i have been told (by Nate and others ). Did you make the sprocket fit the Dolmar clutch drum ?Took my 421 out for a bit and man that is a fun saw. Just seems like to be happiest when you are a bit ruff with her.
Can be pushed to her limits and runs great all the way to the edge. Lol
Yes the rim sprocket was modified. Not by myself. If I remember correctly @fordf150 had some made to sell. I don't know if that is something he still has or not.Corey.
