Working on a 394xp and have replaced brake band 2 times and keeps snapping the brake band. Looks to be wearing in one spot which is odd. Is this a common issue with these saws? Confused as the saw is in mint low hour condition. I will post pictures tommorow.

You can grind on the clutch cover a little to allow the brake band to ride further away from the clutch drum.

There where 2 different versions of the clutch cover and they had different bands. Post a picture of the cover.

Crap I already ordered the brake band, the saw is a 1996, so I ordered the one for this year saw on E replacement parts along with a drum bearing.
