I’ve never heard of a 394 sharing the same crank as a 395. Maybe in really late model production 394’s? There is some overlap in production looking at the IPL’s (2001-present 395 and 1992-2003 394). From what I know the 394 has a different crankshaft that it shares with 288xp. 395 is a different crank with cast in key in the flywheel with a larger big end rod bearing as well supposedly. I’d rather have the 394 bottom end and flywheel for the separate key imho if I had the choice to choose. It’s also easier to find good used 394 crank/flywheels for a reasonable price too.Been reading some of the big husky saw threads here. Still not sure how far back the 395 style crank goes in other models. Scratches head....hum...

Interesting. So, the 181 will be a lighter crank.
Do they all share the same oil pump and drive case side?
Set keys and flywheels isn't even on my radar. Afterthought.
Next question.
It seems to me these models all have different bodywork.
Do they, as in these , 380cd, 480, ?, ?, type saws take the same drive side case and crank as 288-394 or 2100 type?
