I'm trying to gauge the value of a very clean 2015 390xp w/full wrap I picked up and didn't work out as planned. I have a 385xpg w/ broken case that I was going swap all the parts into. Come to find out an oem 390xp case is not machined and tapped at the flywheel side to accept the generator.

2015 390xp, It had a tight big rod bearing, looked fine but it was tight. replaced w/ good oem crank, and swapped in a new full wrap front handle. Stock except for base gasket delete, black oem coil. Tachs out at 13100 4-stroking

I'm going to keep the 385xpg, broke down an ordered a new case. I only need one. 175psi compression after 4 pulls.

Honest assessment appreciated.

Well work backwards from new. I think a new 390xp can be had for about $900 ish give or take. This used saw is 3 year old and in pretty good condition. I'd guess $500-650 somewhere there PHO without a bar & chain is fairly safe money. Presuming the saw runs well and is mechanically sound.

Makes sense, I looked at Husqvarna site 390xp w/ 24" b/c is $1100 retail. PHO is easiest to ship a 24" must be expensive to ship

Bars aren’t expensive to ship. Just wrap it up in cardboard real good and send as a separate package. It’s easier and cheaper to do that then it is to send a bigger box that fits the saw and bar in it together usually.

USPS even has triangular boxes that fit under 36” bars.
