390xp muffler

This is a continuation of an earlier thread but I thought I might get more views (and opinions) this way. When I took the muffler off the 390 there was a heat shield and thin gasket behind the muffler. I attached the deflector but the the gasket was beyond brittle and broke in half. I bolted the muffler back minus the gasket. When I searched a parts diagram for the saw none showed a heat shield or gasket as a replacement part. Is there any potential harm in running it without the gasket? Pics below

Thanks Mark. After I posted this it actually acurred to me that it might be in a different diagram than the one for the muffler.
