I think there is some fudge factor built in....but it'd be nice if there was a stop. The 200t has a stop. ..

Hindsight being the wonderful thing that it is, I guess it's always a good plan to take a note first, e.g. use the depth gauge to measure how far the original seal is down in a bore/whatever prior to a strip...
Of course none of this counts if you're building a basket case. But having said that, the seals lips will always (in my experience) left a ring behind on the shaft from polishing - so that can usually be used in such cases.
