372 clutch side case ?

Yes ,at the bottom.

Somebody pushed a bit too hard installing the bearing with a press perhaps??

I used a oem husky tool. ???

bearing is on crank and tool pulls crank and bearing into case

I've done over 20 of them using the factory puller, I can't see that being the cause. Possible casting flaw?

Someone else was having trouble with them cracking. I don't think he was heating them to 350. At that temp the go in by hand
