I have heard that many actually prefer the 365 over the 372 when running all day. Between sound/vibrations...the 365 is a bit smoother. I must add...this is not my experience, as I have never run a 365.

Agreed

Should be the better closed port version.
Awesome. Well I’ve got another one coming today also but it’s a 371xp that’s cases , crank , good p/c with broken fins. 356 didn’t have p/c. Gotta decide which one my 8 year old son and I are gonna build. That’s why I’ve been asking questions also because one of these we will build together. He’s been watching me work on them and has become very interested so why not. I know I’m gonna have to find some parts so we’ll see what happens

Got the 371xp this afternoon also. I’m contemplating trying to fix the fins or find someone who can. Or just run the piss out of it lol

Don't be afraid if it's just a few fins. If it's half the cylinder then I'd be worried about it running hot. If it's busted real bad just start over with a new oem cylinder kit. I'd go through the bottom end and make sure it's solid. It's important the little o ring under the clutch side bushing/seal is there or else there is potential for a airleak. I believe the part number is 503263019 and its about 2 bucks.

Grease is what I put with the oring to help seal.

If I remember tomorrow I'll snap a pic of a 385 cylinder that I ran for probably ten years. The bore is still perfect and there's a lot of fins gone..

They weld up nice if you decide to repair some fins. Just need a donor cylinder.

If I need to do it or if I decide to do it I’d have to braze it. I’ve got a welder and know how to use it but not set up for aluminum

I got two top fins gone off my 385 mdavlee ported. I've ran that saw hard with no issues. Only thing I do is tune it safe for long cuts.
