Ok, so a friend Alex is putting a 1998 3120xp back together for me... After a large parts bill, Alex tells me that the black coil is showing low to no spark.

What are my options? Do the cheap $20 China coils work? Are they limited like the other 3120 coils? I hate to think about another $105-$120 for a new OEM black coil.

I've got some broaching tools setup to rebroach the older flywheels. I'm glad to share what I've learned on doing this.
I'm no machinist, could you explain "broaching" to me? This is an older 1998 3120xp with a black coil so I assume some modification is needed...

Probably another 2-2.5 weeks before we see the Hutzl China 3120xp coil...

I ordered a 272xp coil from DRZ small parts on ebay. It arrived and Alex said the metal tab on the right side of coil makes this one not work for 3120xp install. Don't know if that's a clearance issue or what...

A broach is a tool to cut a slot for the woodruff key to set in.
