Now that you say that I'm pretty sure I remember that, maybe it wason another forum though.
If I recall it was on a small table in the picture.

So someone is still making them.

Don't know if they're still being made but I found some used ones on ebay.

That's right about the pic...I believe it was here on OPE though. Think I remember the guy saying 'vintage' Stihl fuel can. Don't know if Stihl makes them any longer or not. I'm sure someone out there is making a spin-off of it though.

I think it's a Blitz 'gas and tool' can..they're very cool...all metal..top gas can, bottom section is a tool box.

As for the 288..I just bought a 272 and a 346 but I'm digging in the sofa, that's a great saw and a phenomenal price!

Yep, seems to be for sale, looks like he wants to talk about the fuel can.
Never heard anything about shipping to 48331, bought another husky since then lol.

I was thinking it was here, maybe not. I rarely waste my time on Ass Site so you could be right. I remember a pic of one being in real good shape...might be the one you ended up with.

Sorry guys busy as all get out testing new builds and this 288 in the woods won't be able to get back to answering demands till tomorrow afternoon or Monday saw is still available at this his moment but after running it with my 2101 and misc others she is a runner //
