268 closed window piston on an 038 super?

Anyone know if this will work.. I have a oem super cylinder but no piston. I also have a 268 oem 50mm closed window lying around. What doe anyone recon? I hopefully smell a hybrid rather than a money pit..

Intake/carburetor is gonna be a beotch if the stroke works in your favor.
First thing I'd check is the wrist pin diameters

What do you mean by beotch? Why would it make a difference if the piston measures the same from the pin to the top? Obvs I need to check this..

Problem is I have no super piston to check against..

268 uses a solid intake manifold.
038 uses a flexible rubber intake boot.

Beotch = Pain in the Arse

No problem. Was just thinking of using a 268 as I have one and it is a good clean oem one.

That is a 268 Special piston Jeremy, the 268 XP piston is windowed like a Stihl piston.

This came out of Shauna's uncles saw.
Open port.
He welded the muffler without removing it from the saw.
Not a good idea

But, it is a good excuse to rebuild it as a 272 XP.

Sold the cases n stuffs to Heath bout a year ago.
Not sure what he ended up doing with it

With no windows cooling the piston might be a problem .I'd think the correct piston might work better but who knows unless to try it .

They went to Norf Kalacky along wif a 272, a 372, along with all 268, & 1128 parts I had accumulated.

Pin is the same, height should be close, pin to crown is 1.5mm higher on the 268 so either need to spin a pop up or a base spacer.
