Well, everyone needs a forever project. Mine is my 2095 parts saw. Every year I get it running, every year it acts up….

What’s wrong today?

Low power and wandering 4 stroke. Seems like an air leak or fuel problem.

I think it needs thread inserts in the case where the carb bolts go in. Intake leak.

Good luck. I have one of these saws I bought new a few years ago at a "clearance" price. It's actually been super reliable for me, but I don't use it everyday like a tree service would. I hope you get this sorted out.

I took the 2511 and the 2139 up in the bucket today. The 2511 ran pretty consistently. I had tuned on it a little at the wood yard yesterday. The 2139 started up and ran normally till about half way through it started getting inconsistent 4 stroke again and bogged/low power a couple times but didn’t die. Usable but not fun. I think I’m gonna try didn’t those threads and if that doesn’t do it send it to @Stump Shot

I love my 338, hope you can get it running proper. Mine sits in the toolbox in the truck and has been great, I got it off a tree co and it has as many red parts on it as it does orange. Guessing it had a hard life

i got a 335 for really cheap that didnt oil then found a 338xpt jug and slug for next to nothing. got it all apart and had to wait for several weeks on parts before i noticed that the crank wasnt centered so i put it all in a box and.........there it sits two years later lol
