2071 carb swaps

I messed up and posted in the parts wanted section before asking for the wisdom of the fellow members and experienced...

I am looking to install a different carb on my 2071, the current unit is uber picky and I feel there is a gain to be had.

What carb would you use? Why?
What is needed to make it fit and work correctly?
This is for a work saw, I should add.

I'm actually building almost the same saw. My plan was for a 390 carb as I have a few here, but I'm glad you posted this so I can see a fresh discussion on it.

Something may be wrong with your carb. If it has been recently rebuilt then maybe consider an hd12 replacement.

You know what, the hd12 isn't super expensive, I just might!
