If I ever need to redo a rear end, I know who I am calling....last time I was into one the outcome was less than ideal.
If you can't get up with Ed when that time comes, remember Dally gets his rear end re-done about three times a week and at least once on the wknds.

Finally got the right bearings and sealed it all up this evening. I feel like it all went together like the manuals call for it to. I got the backlash set with a dial indicator and patterned the mesh. I don't think my truck has been this quiet in long time.

Thanks to @dall, @redline4 , and whoever else gave me some pointers.

Now to trim my fender wells and install fender flares.

Who's selling a duramax??? I'm interested.

I have that same Matco TRB250 and also the 1/2 drive TRC250. Bought 'em new off the truck in 2005 and they still work great!

On the topic of bearings, I use Koyo bearings whenever possible. They are a big OEM and top quality. Figure out the Koyo part number and get 'em on Amazon or Fleabay fairly cheap.

Koyo is what came off of it. I ended up using national since that's what I could source locally and didn't have to wait.
