i do, i think they are the simplest, most reliable 70cc saw out there. good power, nice weight and balance, sound nice. whats not to love??

Honestly I believe it has something to do with my generation..

I enjoy the old saws, 60's early 70's homelite. And now late 90's 3 series.
Just like my cars 60's Oldsmobile and late 90's Camaro lol

Wasn't around in the 80's to enjoy these things like many here.

i wasnt really either, but the first and only saw i used for many years was my dads 272, which is now mine. obviously they dont quite perform with a 372, but still a damn good saw and lots of parts out there.

I don't believe it "needs" bearings.

I had planned on splitting the cases and "rebuilding" the saw from the ground up.

Honestly believe a little clean up, new lines/carb kit it would be a runner.

True. I have first hand exp with both though. The 272xp is very Stihl like in the power it delivers. Torque not rpm like the 372..
