Which saw ( Manufacturer , model ) did you cut your teeth on(1st run) logging ?
I didn't use just 1 , due to at any given moment we might switch saws .
Mine were
Husqvarna 272
Husqvarna 288

Homelite xl and super xls ruled here from the 60s-70s
With the poplar cutters.
Stihl and husqy for most other's
Never saw many macs.

Other than starting out casually cutting firewood with a 38cc Poulan, then going to a chinese 365, l my first saw for pro work was a Jonsered 2188

Stihl 036. My dad bought it new in 1989. Probably cut 10-15 cord of fire wood with it for almost 20 years. I now have it since the farm was sold and dad can no longer use it due to health problems. I’ll never sell it.

One just has to be strong to run one for an 8 hour day, I was running them at 13 years old.

First saw i ever used was a Poulan 3500. My dad bought it new in 1993. That saw has cut alot of firewood. And it still does!

Firewood 10-10s. Started logging with SP81s then 850 and 125 Macs and 750 home! Then went husky!

Partner S55. Dad bought it new in '79, I still have it but it's in rough shape.

My dads Poulan wild thing. Then I bought a homelite xl-12. We only cut for camp fires when I was a kid never winter heat or logging. Now I heat my house and cut with a few friends that run boilers. I’ve learned a lot with the help from you guys in the last ten years and the saw stable has grown quite a bit from there also.

2007 Husky 455. Never held a saw before that. Met my best friend in 2008 when, out of the blue through Craigslist, he loaned me his Lickity splitter. Sold it after having the 365 for a year or so.
