181 Flywheel side crank seal

Can anybody tell me quickly how far below the flange I need to set the crank seal on a 181. I would assume it's the same as the 281 and 288. I measured before I pulled the old one but I learned long ago that's not always best, I could be repeating someone else's mistake.

I had a couple cases that measured,
3.9mm on a 181 case and,
4.1 mm on a 288 case
Not sure whats correct but I'de say 4mm is safe
