Pulled this thread up to give y’all a chuckle. Was running the 288 bucking this beast up and dragging it away.

Was pretty impressed with it with 36” skip.
It was getting dark and I went to shut the saw off to drag the last log for the day…choke popped off in my hand. Probably pulled it too fast in a hurry and it was old. It’s kinda hard to get the top cover screws off a 288 when it’s running…I guess I should fix the switch situation.
I lol'd.

Saw is bouncing around in circles in the bed if my deuce, which is also running, gawdawful racket, and I’m chasing it around with a scrench and my phone light, haha! It would have been easier to dump the gas out and let it die.

Back off the LA screw or L screw next time, or smoosh the green weenie against the v-stack.

Sorry, couldn't resist. My PNW brain couldn't fathom a 75cc+ 2-series Husky with a green weenie.

I could also use a junk cylinder to rob some fins off of.

My 288 blew up. Circlip came out and ate the PNC. Gonna put the ported one on. How to flush out the bearings? I might split it and use different cases with a good switch hole. I'd rather just flush it. I was thinking to pour some gas in there and let it sit a bit. Then get my electric fuel pump and circulate gas through a filter and back into the crank case while rotating the crank.

bearings are cheap. as easy as those saws are to split i would just do it. be a bummer if you flush em, get a few tanks of fuel and then bearings go and take crank with it…
