was given two saws awhile back from a friend that had them setting in his garage for several years one was a Husqvarna 162 SE and the other was a Stihl 034 AV SUPER

the Stihl i am having to do a fuel system rebuild which is ok but the Huqvarna 162 SE surprised the heck out of me poured fuel in it and choked it she popped UN choked two more pulls and she started rite up and sat and idled and revved after warming up the 162 has no chain break on it which is also ok

can any one give me any info on the 162 SE

A great older saw!

I have one bought brand new in 1983. She cut me a lot of wood over the years but is a shelf queen now.

Parts are getting hard to find so be careful with it.

Nice scores! And I'm pretty sure a HL supply AM 272 clutch cover should fit right on there if you want a brake.

Same saw as a Jonsered 630.
61, 266, 268, 272, 625, 670 are similar. Mostly the same cases

That's what I thought but didn't want to spread misinformation.

The 162 SE I was given does not have a chain break which from my understanding it was a pro saw put out by Husqvarna with out a chain break because people were not taking to chain breaks to good at the time when the 162 Se was released but do not know if that is true or not all I know is it is a good running saw

Those are real nice do you ever use them LOL
Unfortunately I don't use my saws often enough. My 162SE has sentimental value so after I rebuilt it 5-6 years ago I decided to retire it. The others just appeared in my garage... I swear! ;)

Yup Husqvarna started advertising non chainbrake saws in early 1979 up until about 1981 .
By that time in '81 the Canadian Safety Standard required chain brakes on all gas powered chain saws.
