10 pin with a standard bar?

Like the title says, can you run a 10 pin 3/8" sprocket with a standard large mount bar? Or will the chain want to run off the rails?

What about an 11?

Lee had a 10 pin on his 395 with a stock bar. He had 73dl instead of 72dl chain

A 9 needs the chain pretty tight if you bump the edge of the log on a changeover. 10 is quite a bit bigger than the tail. I used a big wide 24" Stihl es bar and cut it down to accept a 72dl chain. I can get you pictures tomorrow

Make sure you mock up the sprocket you are going to use. No need to take more than is necessary.

The bar mount was milled back in with adjuster holes and oil passages

It's done and being used from time to time. If I think about it the next time I use it, I'll take a pic

I've got a bar I modified to be able to run a large drive sprocket like a 10 pin .Open slotted about 20" long fits a large mount McCulloch,large Homelite or large Stihl .Let me just say none of them has enough ballz to pull a 10 pin .404 because I've tried .Thought it was a great idea at the time ,wrong .
