I had a spare cylinder to play with so I figured I'd see about pepping this thing up a little more for racing.

The first video is with the original cylinder with stock numbers....

And the second video is after pissing it it off by installing a Husqvarna air filter elbow....along with a port job, carb swap, and muffler mod. Lol

The next step is dressing up a cannon roller nose for it. The pipe will just have to be a pipe dream until I'm able to con my ol lady into letting me spend that much money on a saw for fun.

Dang Jim that's pretty slick. I wanna do that to mine now. Where did you get the adapter between the filter and carb? How did you mount the choke lever?

It's a 2100cd air filter elbow with the aluminum ring bonded to it. I don't have the right material to build a vertical stack for the intake yet.
There is no choke. One little squirt of fuel down the throat and it fires right up.

Very good progress with that saw. I didn't think it could run that fast. What kinda rpm change did you get from porting? Also do you think the jug style will limit you having intake and exhaust on the same side? Or am I mistaken. Either way she is strong now.

I haven't measured the rpm, but it went up quite a bit. It's not very easy on the nerves to rev a saw that old and big to wot long enough to get a tach reading.
The configuration of the ports aren't a problem, there was plenty of room. My strongest dislike is the design of the fuel tank, cylinder, and muffler all being sandwiched together.

Yea I had to throw that in there. I figure I get screwed with all day at work I could jab a bit when I get off work and home.
I must say I was sceptical that a old saw like that could run so well. But you did it and should be proud of that bad boy. Now time to convince the wife to let you get a pipe for fun.
